Mr Ronald Chamberlain, the examiner appointed to conduct the Trinity College of Music examinations this year, will arrive at Wellington by the Monowai from San Francisco on July 25.
.The British Prime Minister, Mr Ramsay MacDonald, has left for Lossiemouth, Scotland, to complete his convalescence. He will be away from London about three weeks.
Hamilton Hotel guests include Messrs S. J. Bright, T. Avhvard (Otaua), H. R. Yarrell, J. T. Hargrave (Wellington), C. Troughton Clark (Rotorua), B. Gorton (Otorohanga), A. C. Green, H. Maiden, L. Maiden H. Maxwell, J. F. Mackley, and L. C. Clifford (Auckland).
The Birkenhead Borough Council last evening adopted a recommendation from the committee of the whole cohncil that Mr Humphrey Kemp should be appointed acting-town clerk for a period of three months at a salary at the rate of £250 a year. The town clerk, Mr J. W. Cocks, who completed his duties yesterday, was granted leave of absence on full pay until June 30.
