At Wednesday's meeting of the executive committee it was mentioned tiiat there were still a number ot players anxious to get into a team, and it was felt, that it would be a good scheme to make an ellort to calei for these. It would be beneficial to the competition in that Hie bye would l»e obviated. A good deal of discussion of the proposal ensued and the opinion was unanimous among the club delegates present that it would he a good move. The Old Roys Club undertook the responsibilities in connection with the organisation and control of the new team, the entry of which will add to the Interest of the competition.

THE EMFSON CUP. The Empson Cup competition was continued at. Te Awamutu on Wednesday, when the first round was concluded, leaving Paterangi B leading with five points and Ramblers seexmd with four. The junior competition was also continued. Pstorangi B v. Ramblers. Ramblers soon set up an attack, and Collison shot into the net. Up and down play followed, with Paterangi having rather the best of it. At last Ramblers attacked, but shot vyidc. Then Paterangi attacked hotly, and B. Spiers netted at close quarters. Spiers broke through again, and with a clear shot hit over the goal. Gibson had a shot for Ramblers, but . Bell, the goalie, saved well. There was no further score before half-time. Ramblers attacked, but Bell again saved well. Paterangi tried, but Ryan saved. Ramblers pressed, and Dalziel shot wide. A corner was given, but the shot was blocked. Paterangi had a turn, but found Ryan and Lenihan safe. One attack got past them, but Bldmfleld saved. Ramblers tried, but Horan missed. Next charge Gibson ’just mitesed. Paterangi went through, and Richardson put his. side one up. Just on lime Ramblers attacked, but Collison’s- shot missed. Paterangi forced Ramblers to concede two corners, but there was no further score': Paterangi R 2, v. Ramblers i. Mr C. A. Finch was referee.. Juniors. High School R v. United.—United were first to attack, and Penny scored from a rebound and follow through. High School shot, but Mcnsforth slopped well. ■ After half-time School set up an attack; and R. McMahon put one in from a scramble. Then Riokit scored after a nice run, and put High School in the lead, but Penny soon equalised from close quarters. Fryer put High School one up again. Penny broke through and scored. Just on time Rickil scored the winning goal for School, and the game ended: High School B 4, United 3. Mr C. A. Finch was referee.
