RENT RESTRICTION.

EXTENSION OF ACT. AGREED TO BY GOVERNOR. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Monday. In the House of Representatives today Mr P. Fraser (Labour —Wellington Central), asked whether I lie Prime Minister would consider arranging for Hiq insertion in Hie Finance Bill before it. was passed to the Legislative Council a clause extending the term of the existing Rent Restriction Act which expires in August.

He pointed out that the measure contained a number of provisions which were not included in the recent rent legislation. If the extension were granted the matter could he fully discussed next session. A new clauso was moved by the Minister of Internal Affairs, the lion. A. Hamilton, extending (ho duration of the law as to rent restriction until October 31. 1932, Tho Leader of the Opposilion, Mr H. E. Holland, on behalf of Mr Fraser thanked tho Minister for granting the request. The clauso was passed.
