SEQUEL TO A MURDER.
FORFEITURE OF WEAPON. . DECKE AGAIN BEFORE COURT. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) PALMERSTON N., Monday. An unexpected sequel to the Palmerston North murder trial was the appearance at the Police Court today of Norman Robert Decke, who is serving a life sentence for shooting E. J. Blake way.
Decke was charged with obtaining a rifle from N. P. Hansen without a permit-, and also with having an unregistered firearm. He pleaded “ not guilty.” Delective-Sergeant Doyle, who participated in the investigations which led to Dcckc’s arrest, gave formal evidence. lie said the object of these proceedings was to have the rifle confiscated, ns accused’s father was anxious to obtain it. Accused said it was not his fault that the rifle was not. registered. The Magistrate made an order for the forfeiture of the rifle.
