FIRE AT ROTO-O-RANGI

HOMESTEAD BURNED. (Special to Times.) CAMBRIDGE, Monday. At about four o’clock on Sunday worning a ten-roomed dwelling, owned by Mr P. Colvin, of Reynold’s Settlement, Roto-o-rangl, was j destroyed by fire. Mr Colvin was away at Raglan, but Mrs Colvin, on coming into the kitchen at about 4 a.rm, was met by a burst of smoke and flames. There were several small children in the house, and Mrs Colvin had just time to awaken them and get them out of the house before the building broke into flames. So qulokly did the Are take hold that It was Impossible to save anything. The house was very old, being the original homestead of the late Mr Richard Reynolds’ estate. ' The house and furniture were insured in the Royal .Exchange Insurance Company, but the amounts ire uot yet known.
