WELLINGTON, Monday

According to Mr W. M. Neilsen, veterinary surgeon in charge of the racehoVse Phar Lap, everything is in readiness for taking the famous racer on the trip to San Francisco and thence to Mexico. Mr Neilsen arrived from Sydney by the Monowai to-day, accompanied by E. J. Martin, an apprentice rider. Mr Neilsen said that all arrangements had been made for running Phar Lap in the Aguascalientes Handicap after the horse had spent some two months in Mexico. Phar Lap will he pul on hoard (he Monowai lomorrow, and throughout. Iho voyage will he housed in a specially-pre-pared box. .situated on one of the top decks. lie will be feel with New Zealand grass, a considerable quantity of which lias been shipped. His box will he floored with sand, and provision has been made for an exorcise yard, which is also floored with sand.

There he will be allowed about two months for acclimatisation purposes. Provision has been made for feeding him on special grass to be sent, to Mexico from San Francisco. His first race will be the. Aguascalientcs Handicap, for about £20,000 in English money. Mr Neiisen said Phar Lap had been entered in 11 big races in America. He felt confident that the horse would produce all his Australian form, as the climate in Mexico and Southern California, he understood, was very similar to what Phar Lap Mad been used to for many months past. Mr Woodcock, who has been in change of Phar Lap since lie J\eti Sydney, will also leave by the Mono wai to-morrow. SAIL AS SCHEDULED. SAX FRANCISCO, Dec, 28.
