RUGBY FOOTBALL.

BIG MATCHES TO-MORROW THE INTER-ISLAND FIXTURE. WAIKATO TO PLAY AUCKLAND. COLLEGE GAMES AT HAMILTON. A return match with Auckland will be played at Auckland to-morrow by the Waikato representative fifteen. When these sides met at Hamilton on June 3 last the Aucklanders had the verdict by a five-point margin, the final scores reading 22—17. Waikato has had a fairly good record in representative matches this season, having defeated Wanganui and Wairarapa, while Taranaki (which has had a win from Auckland) led them by s—o in a recent match at Stratford. In view of Waikato's improved form and the fact that Auckland will be weakened by the absence of Solomon, Batty and Hadley at the inter-island game, there is every prospect of the visitors emerging victorious to-morrow. General interest throughout the country will be focussed on the historic inter-island fixture at Wellington. Colin Cameron will be representing Waikato in the North Island team, while a former Waikato player, W. Allen, is included in the South Island fifteen.

Prominence will be given to college games in the Hamilton Rugby Union s fixtures to-morrow. The principal match will be that between the first fifteens of the Auckland Grammar School and Hamilton High School on No. 1 ground. Rugby Park, at 3 p.m. A match between Pukekohe Technical High School and Hamilton Technical High School will be played on No. 2 ground. The Clarke Gup senior competition wlil he suspended this Saturday. The Hamilton fourth grade representatives will visit Cambridge to play the. local third grade fifteen. Teams from the Morrinsville District High School will visit Hamilton to play Marist School teams. The junior A and junior B contests will be continued and a match will also be played between High School A and Technical School A.
