WRESTLING.

(To the Editor.) Sir,—ln reply to your correspondent, “Anti-Matman,”: In the opening lines of his letter in to-night’s issue of your paper, he shows that he has grasped the general purpose of my letter of August 6, but from then on his—well not exactly intelligence, but his common sense, I should say—has seemed to have entirely disappeared. He does not seem to be able to grasp that which I flatter myself the letter contains, and that is sarcasm. Perhaps It Is my common sense that is lacking. It is obvious, Judging by his reply that he has hurriedly read my letter because If he re-reads It, he will see that I did not say or Imply that these so-called wrestlers were poverty stricken. On the contrary, 1 state that " they adopt a style which appeals to the public and thus they are able to live on the fat of the land." Surely, these words cannot be taken to mean that they are “ poverty stricken I” If “Anti-Matman" has taken such a meaning then I would be Justified in substituting the word “Intelligence ” for the words “ common sense " In the earlier part of this letter. Again, I did not accuse “ AntiMatman ’’ of alleging brutality, in fact, I was not aware until to-night that he was In existence. Evidently, I have missed his previous letters, so he may rest assured that he was not even in my thoughts at the time of my writing. One question, "Anti-Matman”: Do the " circus crowd" rake In the same number of shekels as these wrestlers? Of course they do not, and as I have already stated these men have brains. They know that there Is more money in the game In one night as they play It than the “ circus crowd" make In perhaps three or four months. Now, “AntiMatman," I am offering a little advice to you alone. When you criticise a letter or any literature of any description in the future make sure that you fully appreciate and understand the contents of the letter under your criticism. Finally read my letter again and perhaps (?) you may appreciate the views of EX-WRESTLER. Frankton, August 10, 1930.
