MR PARKER CRAMER.
HOPE ABANDONED. METAL CYLINDER FOUND. BELIEVED TO BELONG TO MACHIN® United Press Assn. —Elec. Tel. Copyright (Received Aug. 13, 12.30 a.m.) COPENHAGEN, Aug. 12. A metal cylinder has been found oa the Jutland Coast. It presumably belonged to Mr Parker Cramer's machine and hope has now been abandoned. Nevertheless the trans-American line is continuing Its preparation for a further survey.
Mr Parker Cramer and Mr Bert Hassell left Rockford, Illinois, in August. 1929, to fly to Sweden, via Greenland, but had to make a forced landing in Greenland, where they were rescued by a scientific expedition under Professor Hobbs, after they had been given up as lost. They were taken to Denmark. Mr Cramer was one of the pilots with Sir Hubert Wilkins on ills second expedition to the Antarctic In 1928-29. Mr Cramer left Shetland for Copenhagen last week and has not since been reported.
