KI AKURA STATE FARM. EXCELLENT AVERAGE MAINTAINED PIGS IN STRONG DEMAND. Ideal conditions favoured the annual sale of Ruakura State Farm stock yesterday. There was a large and representative bench of buyers and bidding throughout continued unabated. The animals were brought forward in excellent condition and the spirited competition on the majority of lots sold was a striking commentary on the quality of the offering. Jersey bulls commanded the highly satisfactory average of over 33|gns., the top price of 60gns. being paid by Mr p. A. Swney, of Waihou, fop Dominion Cedric, an outstanding youngster by Dominion \dvance from Dominion Coral. Shorthorn bulls also sold well, the 12 knocked down to the hammer averaging laigns. The Ayrshire bulls which ranged in price from Bgns. to 43gns., averaged 15Jgns. Jersey heifers averaged over 22gns. t Shorthorn heifers IM l-3gns., and Ayrshire heifers 114»ns.

There was a strong demand for pigs, as much as 2i|gus. being pah! for large white sows, which sold for 6J gns.. and averaged over 13gns. Larg' white boars averaged 12gns.; Berkshire boars sold for 4gns. to Bgns., and averaged over Ggns.; Berkshire sows sold for Signs to IGjgns, and averaged nearly lOgns.
