HAMILTON CLUB. The following players will represent the Hamilton Club against a team from the Te Awamutu Club at Hamilton at the week-end:— W. C. Wynne, C. B. Wake, H. T. Gillies, F. Beehan. D. Players must choose their own partners and book times on starting list. HAMILTON LADIES' CLUB. The tie between Mrs A. James and Mrs Colin Taylor for the Jennings Cup was played off on Monday, when Mrs James returned the best score. ROCKY DOWNS CLUB. An 18-hole medal handicap was played on Saturday In conjunction with the qualifying round for the senior and junloi' championships. The best cards were:—W. Cottle, 100— 30—70; H. Keeley, 86—11—75; F Alqulst, 96—20—76; L. Ryan, 104— 27—77; F. Hutchison, 82—4—78; A. Thomson, 100—22—78; F. Woodhouse, 110 —31—79.

Those who qualified were:—Senior: Hutchison, Little. Keeley, Corbett, Fitzgerald, Mentlplay, Alquist and Cottle. Juniors: Cottle. Thomson, Ryan, Buckley, Bluck, Woodhouse, Casey and Ferguson. In an 18-hole bogey match for Mr E. Johnston's trophy Hutchison, Little, Fitzgerald, Mentlplay and Cottle, all 4 down, dead-healed and will play off.

In the Glenfarne Cup series A. Thomson (19) beat L. Little (4), 3 and 2, in the semi-final and the former will now meet J. Corbett (8) In the final.

In the ladies' B grade championship, first round, Miss M. Montague heat Miss A. Robinson. 4 and 3; Miss K. McGeahan beat Miss 11. Montague, 5 and 3; Mrs H. Keeley beat Mrs R. Mentlplay, 1 up. In the second round Miss K. McGeahan beat Miss M. Montague, 3 and 2. The following will represent Rocky Downs against Te Aroha at the weekend on the local links:— Ladles.—Misses O'Hara, Robinson, Johnston, 11. and M. Montague. Mesdames Taylor, Mentlplay, Lambourne, Johnston and Underwood. Men.—Hutchison, Little Keeley, Fitzgerald, Stevens, Mentlplay, Wallace, Buckley, Thomson, Johnston, Casey, Bluck, Ryan and Taylor.

CERTAIN CLUBS BARRED. The secretary of the New Zealand Golf Association has received advice from the Rules of Golf Committee of the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews to the effect that the committee has recently been giving very careful consideration to the question of certain clubs manufacture! with striking faces having a concavity much more pronounced than in those hitherto in use. It has been decided that the use of clubs so constructed Is not in the best interests of the game, and accordingly from the date of the communication sucli clubs will not be permitted under the Huies of tile Royal and Ancient Club.
