WAIKERIA CONCERT.
MRS DOWNES’ MAORI PARTY. Under Hie auspices of the Howard League the popular Frankton entertainers, Mrs M. Downes’ Maori parly, visited Waikeria last night. A par ticularly fine programme was provided, and otfieers and Inmates voiced their approval in no uncertain manner. The following items were given: Songs, Misses 11. Downes. R. Downes. Messrs Peter Te Werl. K. Rail!, and H. S. Marlin: Highland Fling and Irish Jig, Miss Rosie I low nes: vocal duets. Misses Rosie and Ihinia Downes. Miss R. Downes and Mr 11. S Martin: banjo solos, Mr E. Haiti, 'flic perfoniKTS were also heard in several ensemble numbers, while Mr E. Rail! led the community singing.
