The Dominion Skating Blnk Company advised that in future skating would he held In the Town Hall on Saturdays Instead of Fridays as formerly.—The Board had no objection. Opinions were read as to the effect of steel roller skate wheels on floors and ft was decided not ‘to allow these to be used in the Town Hall. The foreman reported a landslide at the intake of the water supply which had been .sh.’Sked last Su'nday and drew the hoard’s attention to the danger of scouring at the headworks. He also slrcssed the necessity of removing the railway trucking yards from the centre of the town as at present children were subjected to undue danger through stock travelling along the streets to the trucking yards. Members considered a change desirable but doubted if the railway authorities would do anything at the present juncture. A committee consisting of Commissioners Buchanan, Stanley and Stewart was set up to inspect roads and footpaths In the town and report.
