DRESS HINTS
'Mistakes in dress are very common. Too often women spoil the effect of a pretty dress or smart suit by wearing a cheap badly-chosen accessory with it. One cannot stress too much the importance handbags play in building up an attractive ensemble. The question of cost is not so important as most people think. A rich woman may be much less well dressed than her poorer sister, simply because she has too many clothes, and does not pay so much care in choosing them. If "one has but little money to spend, then a particularly careful choice Is essential. A well-cut coat and skirt of good quality and a simple style that does not date is always a good Investment, and with careful handling, and occasional, cleanings and pressings, it can be worn season after season. It is advisable to choose a neutral or fairly dark shade such as grey, fawn, navy or brown, so that, one" can wear different coloured blouses, jumpers, hats, scarves, with it when one wauls a change. Brown or fawn stockings, shoes and gloves, go well with all shades of brown or fawn, and grey is charming with navy or black. It is an economical idea to have all one's clothes in one or two shades. I hen one's handbag, umbrella, cic.. will do service wilh different outfits. For ins'lanee, if one chooses navy or grey as one’s colours, one can achieve several different looking ensembles wilh hut lilllo effort.
