THE MILK SUPPLY.

(To tho Editor). Sir, —I was extremely sorry to read the statements mado by Ills Worship the Mayor concerning the 'milk supply. Suroiy the milk vendors may be presumed to know their own business. It is, however, unusual for a Mayor, even In the cause of civic patriotism, to fly absolutely in the teeth of all medical evidence. If tho Mayor will consult any of the bacteriologists I venture to say he will meet many surprises. If he has a microscope, and uses it, he need not be surprised to find T.B. or undulent fever germs, and If there is no • mammitis 'he will be in luck. Pulmonary tuberculosis is said to have been eradicated In New York by tho cleaning up of the milk supply. I have for six or seven years watched the efforts of a farmer to produce perfect milk, and my interest has been held not only because of an interest In my friend’s efforts and tho difficulties he has set himself to overcome, but because in the process I have read expert evidence from many sources. It is an under-statement to say that no authority I know of supports a complaisance comparable with that of Ills Worship.—l am, etc., WATCHDOG. Hamilton, July 28, 1931.
