PINTO v BURMISTER. STIRRING MATCH PROMISED. With a decision over Tom Lurich in Australia and other notable victories in various parts of the world, Sam Burmister comes to Hamilton on Thursday with a record that should ensure a capacity house for the second match of the Waikato Wrestling Association's present season. In Stanley Pinto, the Nebraska “ Wild Cat,” Burmister iias a worthy opponent who will fully extend him throughput eight rounds of hard spectacular wrestling. Pinto needs little introduction to the wrestling public. His record in ihe Dominion shows him to be a versatile matman with a wide selection of holds with that necessary leavening of showmanship to infuse a touch of the spectacular into the contest. Among his victims in this country since his arrival here a few months ago, Pinto numbers Jack Higgins, of Australia, Scotty McDougall and Harry Demetral. Fie was narrowly beaten on ponts by Kara Pasha, the “ Terrible Turk,” at Wellington early in the present month.
Burmister, who hails from Esthonia, Is a seasoned opponent of the ancient art and has engaged in over 500 bouts. He has met the cream of the world's wrestlers and while an amateur won the world’s championship twice at the Olympic Games. He lias also held the heavy-weight championship of the Orient.
A sparkling programme of amateur talent will precede the big bout.
