PART OF A PLANE.
FOUND ON FOXTON BEACH. LONG TIME IN THE SEA. WAS IT HOOD AND MONCRIEFFB. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) FOXTON, Tuesday. A strut of Oregon pine, obviously from an aeroplane, was washed up on Foxton beaoh. It Is 10ft. 8!n. long, with a tapered end, 3ln. wide on one side, tapering to 3J In. on the other and 1J In. thlok. There ar® traces of white paint on the upper and lower edges, and mlnut® particles of fabrlo are adhering under some brass taoks. Both sides have been hollowed out for lightness. The strut has evidently been In the sea for a considerable time, as mussels are attached. The set of the currents from the Tasman Bea strike the beaoh, and the find Is considered likely to have oonneotlon with the loss of the Hood-Monorleff plana Aoteroa.
