OBITUARY.
LORD KNUTSFORD. United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright, (Received July 28, 11.45 a.m.) LONDON, July 27. The death is announced of Lord Knutsford, aged 75. He was an accomplished amateur conjuror and his skill in raising £6,000,000 for the London Hospital in 30 years earned for him the title of “ The Prince of Beggars.” He will be succeeded in the title by his twin brother Hon. Arthur Henry Holland-Hibbert. Viscount Knutsford succeeded to the barony in January, 1914. He was an indefatigable pleader for the cause of the London Hospital, of which he was chairman. He was a famous swimmer in his undergraduate days at Cambridge. He married' the Earl of Ashburnham’s daughter, and his daughter married Lord Malise Graham, brother of the Duke of Montrose.
MRS HOWLEY. OTOROIIANGA, Monday. Mrs Howley, a very old and respected resident, died bn Sunday evening. Her son, Mr M. Howley, is a prominent business man of the town. MR E. STRATFORD. GREYMOUTII, Tuesday. The death has occurred of Mr Edmund Stratford, timber miller. Deceased was born at Wellington in 1869, and came to the Coast when quite young. ,
