HAMILTON PEACE CUP TEAM.
(To the Editor.)
Sir, —I notice by the letters In tho paper and also from the fact that tho Hamilton selector picked a junior to play In 'the representative team, that wo are supposed to be short of five-eighths for the representative team. I must admit I have seen the junior play, and think lie is the best three-quarter (centre) In the grade, but 1 cannot see the necessity of playing him in the senior grade, on the chance that lie will make good in a representative game, when we have at least two very good live-eighths to till tho positions, In the senior grade. t.Now, sir, 1 will give my idea, of the Hamilton back line, and. ask If any other football fan can improve on it; 1 think lie will have bis work cut out to do so. The following is the lino starling from the rover, W. Cassidy. half, L. Denz; first live-eighth, Giliing; second five-eighth, Hook; centre. Fitzgerald; wings, Malcolm and GriPiths. Fullbacks, Skcot or Holi, but personally after the poor exhibition by 801 l last Saturday, when lie was up against it, and let his team down several times, I would prefer to give Skeet the full-hack’s job on this season’s form. As regards playing Hook live-eighths, everybody knows be can play equally well anywhere in •the bank line from full-back to rover and lie proved it last Saturday, by playing a sterling game, both as rover ami hvo-eighlhs, when his Irani was up against it: so in my opinion, instead of bringing juniors up, or playing doubt fill men al live-eighths Malcolm anil Grlmihs should lie playmi on the wings, and Hook at flvreighlhs. and I don’t think that anyone will have any cause to worry about the hack line lolling 'Hamilton i.l"\vu. —1 am. etc., RUGBY FAN.
