NEW ZEALAND LOAN.
PLACED IN LONDON. THE TERMS SATISFACTORY. ALLOCATION OF THE MONEY. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Tuesday. The Prime Minister, Hon. G. W. Forbes, in a statement to-day, announced that the New Zealand loan of £5,000,000 was underwritten last week in London and placed on the market there. From a variety of causes the long-term market is very difficult, and under the present conditions it is deemed advisable to considerably shorten the term usually offered for New Zealand loans. In view of all the circumstances he considered the terms of the loan must be regarded as satisfactory. The loan will be allocated as follows : Public Works .... £3,000,000 Electric supply .... £1,000,000 Redemptions • £1.000,000
