The Te Aroha School Committee has received a circular letter from the director of the division of dental hygiene, notifying that the department had decided to place a levy of £3O per annum for each dental officer active in school clinics. Tire committee decided to protest strongly, alleging a broach of lailh. The committee considered that as the Minister of Education, at the time of tlic opening of the clinic, had promised free treatment to all eligible school children, the decision constituted a direct move in the opposite direction.
