FOR LOVE OF A GIRL. MONEY WANTED FOR NEW DRESS. AUCKLAND, Tuesday. Edward Walter Rix, who appeared at the Supreme Court yesterday, had admitted a crime In which he was charged at Whakatane with breaking into an office with intent to commit a crime. Counsel described It as “a classical example," of a simple-minded youth who was led astray by tils love of a girl. She was 21 and had written to him asking l'or money to buy a dress. Rix had not- had much chance In life and was below the normal intelligence for a boy of 18. Taking into consideration nix’s previous good record and his mental weakness, His Honour ordered him to bo detained in the Borstal Institute for two years.
