LADY CAMPBELL’S BROOCH
“ Tho last time I saw Lady Malcolm Campbell, wife of the famous speed king, she was wearing a very beautiful diamond and sapphire brooch on her hat, fashioned In the shape of a bird," states a Londoner. “ She explained that it was her ‘ Blue 1 Bird ’ brooch, presented to her by Sir Charles Wakefield, the oil magnate, to commemorate her husband’s former triumph, with his car —* Blue Bird.’ The workmanship of the brooch is exquisite. Lady Campbell always wears it on her hat in the daytime, and pinned to her gown at night. She is a very pretty, vivacious woman, and, like her husband, puroly fatalistic about the enormous risks he takes on the racing track."
