ANNUAL MEETING.
WAIKATO LYCEUM OLUB. The annual meeting of the Waikato Lyceum Club was held last evening with the president, Mrs W. H. Hume, in the chair. In opening the meeting, Mrs Hume referred to the great loss the club had sustained during the year in the deaths of the late president, Mrs F. Jolly, and Mrs H. Valder. The assembly stood in silence as a mark of respect to the late members. The report was read by the secretary, Miss E. Eggleston, and was adopted. The balance-sheet, which was circulated to members prior to the meeting was also adopted. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year:—President: Mrs Hugh Douglas; vice-presidents, Mrs T. Platt, Mrs Vero Chitty, Mrs W. H. Hume, Mrs W. J. Stevens; committee, Mrs J. D. Smith, Mrs W. D- Ross, Mrs A. Beale, Miss M. Stevens, Mrs H. J. Ferguson, Miss A. Bourke, Mrs H. J. MoMullin, Mrs R. B. Cranwell, Mrs F. Vickery, Mrs H. T. Gillies; hon. treasurer, Mrs H. J. 'Greenslade; hon. secretary, Miss E. Eggleston. Mrs W. J. Stevens read a very interesting extract from the report of the Hamilton branch of the National Council o 7 Women. Mrs Stevens and Mrs Bisley were re-elected delegates to the National Council. The convenors of the circles were confirmed. Sanson and O’Meara were re-eleotod auditors for the olub.
