CROQUET CLUB SOCIAL. A social was held in the Tatuanul Hall on Thursday evening by tho ladies of the Croquet Club, In aid of the club funds, and though the attendance was not as large as at some reoent functions there was a representative gathering and the club funds will benefit. Dancing was carried on in the hall, music being provided by Mrs Mao Ewan (piano) and Messrs J. Marshall and R. Mlckeson saxaphone). During tho early part of the evening a number of five "hundred players gathered In the supper room and a' series of games ended In Mrs A. Wratt and Mrs J. Crawford -tielng for the ladles’ prize, with Messrs A. Crowe, C. Sing, A. Wratt and J. Crawford equal for the men’s prize. After cutting the paok Mr and Mrs Wratt were declared the winners. Suppor was provided by tho ladies. Presentation. At a gathering of 'Croquet Club members at Mrs W. Darrell’s home, on Wednesday, a presentation of a set of table linen was made to Mrs Mac Ewan, who has played the piano at the club’s socials as well as at all the entertainments held in the district, A pleasant time was spent In games and competitions.
