AUCKLAND MEETING. CONCLUDING DAY’S RESULTS. TAMAKI STEEPLES TO PARIS. LANDMARK WINS ORAKEI. VALROE’S YORK HANDICAP. SPALPIKO TAKES STEEPLECHASE. (Special-to Times.) AUCKLAND, Monday. The Winter meeting of the Auckland Racing Club was concluded today at Ellerslie under ideal weather conditions. There was a good attendance and the course was in good order. Following are the results:— TAMAKI STEEPLECHASE Of £300; about 2 h miles. 4 PARIS, Mr W. T. Hazlett’s b g by Solferino—Directoire, aged, 10.2 (G. Dempster) 1 3 SENORA, Mr A. T. Gattrell’s br m by All Red —Senorita, aged, 9.0 (J. .Mcßae) 2 G JIU JAZZ, Mr L. H. Coilinson’s ,b m by Tribulation —Jiu Jitsu, aged, 9.4 (L. Jarvis) 3 Also started: 1 Dark Prince, 11.0 (Olive) ; 2 Pangolin, 10.3 (McDonald) ; 5 Quinsilia, 10.1 (Mackie). Winner trained by F. J. McKay, Invercargill. Tiie favourite was Dark Prince, who carried £761 from Pangolin (£513), Senora (£493) and Paris (£287). Paris and Dark Prince took charge showing the way over the hill-top to Quinsilia, Senora, Pangolin and Jiu Jazz. At the stand double Paris and Dark Prince were together followed by Senora, Quinsilia, Jiu Jazz and Pangolin. Up the hill the last time Paris, Senora, Dark Prince, Quinsilia, Jiu Jazz and Pangolin were In that order. Pangolin fell at the first fence on the hill-top, Paris leading Into the straight from Senora and Jiu Jazz. Paris won by three lengths from Senora, who was twelve lengths in front of Jiu Jazz. The Blenheim-trained Landmark was the elect of investors with £864 from Cristobcl (£631) and Coolmint (£372), Loving Cup being ninth fancy with £195. Cristobcl was soon in front showing the way past the stands to Owairaka, Archeen, Landmark, Loving Cup and Land Measure, Catulus having been pulled up at the th*ird fence. Cristobel was slill ilie leader along the back where Landmark, Owairaka, Loving Cup, Kairuri, Coolmint, Land Measure, and Archeen were in that order. Cristobel tired over the concluding stages. Landmark winning by two and a-half lengths from Loving Cup who was six lengths in front of Kairuri. Cristobel was fourth and then came Patutahi, Owairaka, Nassock, Land Measure, Coolmint, Monetize, and Harbour View, Archeen falling at the last fence. Time, 3.20 2-5.

Duiicu). Winner trained by R. J. Mateer, Malamata. Havering was most in demand with £1361, the next In order of selection being Standfast (£852) and Inevitable (£794). Taneriri was fifth fancy with £529 and the Matamata-trained Yalroc seventh choice with £3lO 10s. Yalroe and Inevitable were together going along the back followed by Standfast, Eaglet, Havering, Little Doubt, Eager Rose and Taneriri. Half a mile from home Yalroc, Inevitable, Eaglet, Standfast, Eager Rose, Havering, Little Doubt. Seatown and Taneriri were in that order. Yalroc turned for home in front of Eaglet, Inevitable, Havering, Standfast, Little Doubt, Eager Rose, Llandudno and Taneriri. Nothing had a chance with Yalroe, who won by two and a-half lengths from Taneriri, who beat Standfast by half a length. Little Doubt was close up fourth and then came Havering, High Pitch, Eaglet, Inevitable, Seatown, Lucy Rose, Sir Mond, Llandudno, True Blood, British King and Eager Rose. Time, 1.43. Master Lu was most in demand with £922, from Star Comet (£805), Lucess (£799), Claremore (£620), and Spalpiko (£518). Kaokaoroa fell at the water-jump in front of the stands and brought down Star Comet. Spalpiko led over the opening round followed by Kamehameha, Claremore, Wiltshire, Mashoor, Matu, Copey, Lucess, Master Lu and Wako King. Kamehameha baulked at the second fence on the hill-top. Passing the stands Spalpiko was out a good fifteen lengths in front of Claremore and then came Matu, Lucess, Wiltshire, Copey, Mashoor and Wako King with Master Lu stili well back. Going up the hill the last time Spalpiko was six lengths in front of Claremore and then came Matu, Copey, Lucess, Wako King and Master Lu. Spalpiko jumped the last fence slightly in front of Claremore and beat the latter home by a length. Copey was twelve lengths away third. W'ako King was fourth and then Lucess and Mashoor. Time, 6.8. Protest Dismissed. A protest against the winner for boring Claremore at the last fence was dismissed. CAMPBELL HURDLES. Of £450; 2 miles. 4 PRINCE LU, Mr A. Coubrough’s hr g, by Lucullus—Elysian Graceful mare, aged, 10.10 (F. Foster) 1 1 NUCLEUS, Mr F. W. Ehrhorn’s br m, by Lucullus—Persis, aged, 10.0 (H. Duiieu) 2 5 ANTRIM BOY, Mr -G. J. Unoco lost his rider at the first' jump, Prince Lu taking charge and showing the way past the stands to Apache, Antrim Boy, Make Up, Nucleus and Easterly. Along the back Prince Lu, Apache, Antrim Boy and Make Up were in that order. Prince Lu turned for home with Nucleus, Antrim Boy and Make Up handy. Prince Lu stalled off a challenge by Nucleus and beat the latter by two 'lengths. Antrim Boy was one and a-half lengths further off and Make Up fourth, followed by Apache, Easterly having fallen at the last fence. Time 3.50. Horse Destroyed. While contesting the Orakei Hurdle Race, Catulus broke a bone in a leg and was destroyed. WAIKATO CLUB. WINTER MEETING AT TE RAPA. SATURDAY AND MONDAY. WEIGHTS TO APPEAR TO-MORROW The Waikato Racing Club will hold a winter meeting at Te ltapa on Saturday and Monday. The innovation of a big jumping fixture at local quarters is being eagerly looked forward to. Popular admissiou rates are being levied which will prove a further incentive .to prominent patronage. As the horses engaged in the meeting are at the top of their form, the quality of the racing will he of a high standard. The weights will be announced tomorrow and acceptances for the first day will close at 9 p.m. on Wednesday with the Secretary (Mr E. 11. O’Meara) P.O.
