LATE MRS H. VALDER.

MEMORIAL SERVICE. “ FAITH AND DEVOTION.” Feeling reference to the late Mrs H. Valder was made by Very Rev. G. R. Barnett, Dean of Hamilton, speaking at a memorial service at St. Peter’s Cathedral yesterday morning. The Dean, taking his text from the commendation in the Parable of the Talents, “ Well done, thou good and faithful servant," remarked that Mrs Valder had been a constant worshipper, faithful communicant, and leader and teacher of the young in Sundayschool and Bible Class for many years at St. Peter’s. She had always been ready to give her powers of leadership In any worthy cause. She had been president of the Claudelands Ladles’ Guild and of the Hamilton branch of the National Council of Women and actively helped and encouraged anything worth while. Those who knew her intimately admired her chiefly because of two qualities—courage In the face of increasing Infirmity, which she knew had only one ending The putting off of this earthly tabernacle," and for her wonderful faith and devotion and the firm conviction she possessed in the reality of the future life. Mrs Valder had herself often said: “ I look forward to It as a great adventure.” The words of the text indicated the manner in which she would be welcomed in the life to which she had just, departed. Appropriate'hymns were sung and prayers offered at the service.
