GOLDEN WEDDING.
WEBBER—RHODES. Mr and Mrs Harry Webber, of Bryce Street, Cambridge, celebrated the 50th anniversary of their wedding on Friday. Tho ceromony took the form of a wedding supper, at which there were many relatives and close friends present. Tho tables were laden with good things, and the decorations included golden emblems of good luck. In the centre of the table was the large two-tier wedding cake. Mr Robert Webber, brother of the bridegroom, in proposing the toast of the bride and bridegroom, referred to the long and happy married life of his brother and his wife. He wished them many more years of happy married life. The toast was drunk with musical honours and responded, to by the two sons, Messrs W. and L. Webber. The toast of the bridesmaid (Mrs J. Wallace), who was present, was also honoured.
Mr and Mrs Webber received congratulations from all present, and there .were numerous letters and telegrams. In addition to the honoured couple and the bridesmaid, there were also present:—Mr and Mrs W. Webber, Mr and Mrs T. R. Franklyn, Miss Violet and Mr L. Webber (members of the family) ; Mrs A. Gasparich, of Sandringham; and Mrs Short, Pukekohe (sisters of the bride); Messrs R. and J. Rhodes, of Onehunga (brothers of the bride); Mr and Mrs R. Webber, Leamington, Mr and Mrs P. Mills, Frankton, Mr R. Mills, Cambridge; and the grandchildren of the honoured couple, Joan, Doreen and Brian Webber. Mr and Mrs Webber were married at Ngaruawahia on June 5, 1881, by Rev. 11. S. Davies, and have lived in Cambridge ever since.
