SOCIAL NOTES.
The Governor-General and Lady Bledisloe, with a party from Government House, attended the recital given at Auckland on Saturday night by Mischa Levitzki. At the close His Excellency stepped forward to the platform, shook the great pianist by the hand, and graciously acknowledged the pleasure he and his party had derived from Levitzki's wonderful performance. Lord ■ BJedisloe's tribute was enthusiastically applauded by the large audience. » * * * Mrs H. Baker returned yesterday from a month’s holiday in the north. * * x* * Mrs R. J. Robinson, of Greymouth, is visiting relatives in the Waikato. Miss Eva Dunn, of Petone, is the guest of Mrs Sampson in Hamilton. • * * ■ Miss Marjorie Green, of Huntly, went to Auckland for Mischa Levitzki's recital on Saturday night.
