RECORD YEAR.
GOVERNMENT LIFE INSURANCE. After the most stringent of valuations the Government Life Insurance Department was able to divide amongst its policyholders by way of profits for 1030 a record sum of £224,145, providing reversionary bonus amounting to £371,006. The bonus certificates are in the hands of policyholders, who, considering the depression, cannot but be pleased with the results. The management also states that they will have the added satisfaction of knowing that the money paid by them in premiums has been invested in their own Dominion—a matter of some moment in these days of financial shortage.
It is interesting to note that the profits of this office have trebled in the last ten years, the amount that was divided for the three years 19181920 having been £217,706, as against £224,145 for the one year just ended.
