AUCKLAND, Saturday. The Auckland Racing Club's Winter meeting was continued at Ellerslie today in fine weather before a good attendance. The track was holding. Winner trained by R. W. A. Lewis, Onehunga. Billy Boy was most in demand with £BOB, the 'next in order of selection being Senora (£789 10s), Mashoor (£547) and Town Beauty (£377 10s). Nassone lost her rider at the first jump while Mashoor fell at the first fence on the hill top. Billy Boy showed the way over the stand double to St. Lucas, Senora, Jju Jazz, Nukutere, Town Beauty and Glen Maree. Fair Abbey fell at the fence by the seven furlong post. Going up the hill the last time Senora, Billy Boy and Jiu Jazz were on terms followed by Nukutere, St. Lucas, Town Beauty and Glen Maree. Senora and Billy Boy were together approaching the last fence with Town Beauty, Nukutere and Jiu Jazz in that order. Billy . Boy went on to win by a length and ahalf from Town Beauty who was two and a-half lengths in front of Senora. Jiu Jazz was fourth with Nukutere, St. Lucas and Glen Maree in that order. Time, 5.22. The winner is a promising young jumper. He' fenced very cleanly today and showed a good turn of speed. Town Beauty was some way out of It for most of the trip but finished on well. Senora gave an improved. showing on her first day's effort when she fell early. She was always prominent to-day but tired in the finishing stages. Jiu Jazz made a fair showing.

Winner trained by J. F. Tutcheu, Te Rapa. The Gay Lap-Yalslrcet bracket commanded most attention going out witli £1558, the next in demand being Catoma (£.1011) and Taurua (£995). The Hamilton-owned and Te Rapatrained King Ford was eighth choice with £333 and Full Measure eleventh fancy with £lOl 10s. King Ford showed t>ho way along the back io British Princess, Full Measure and Bronze Tray. Half a milo from home King Ford, Captain Dollar, Full Measure, Gay Lap, Pakitere and King Peg were in that order. King Ford showed the way into the straight to Captain Dollar, Gay Lap, Full Measure and Emancipation. King Ford won by three-quarters of a length from Full Measure who was two and a-half lengths in front of Gay Lap. Emancipation was fourth followed by Bronze Tray, Catoma, Gold Lily, Valstrr/t, British Princess, Pakitere, King Peg and Captain Dollar. Time, 1.312-5. 'Pbe first and second horses returned double figure dividends. King Ford who was drawn much closer in than at his first day’s start, had the best of it out of the barrier. The Te Rapa candidate ran the journey out in good style. Full Measure was always prominent. Gay Lap did not have, flic best of it early while his weight told at the end. Emancipation was finishing on well. Catoma and Taurua were not particularly prominent.

The Cambridge-trained Prince Lu was the elect of investors going out with £1249 on his prospects from Make Up (£IOO3 10s) and Carinthla (£932 10s), there being £OO4 for the sixth fancied High Pitch. High pitch going on to win by one and ahalf lengths from Make Up who was a length in front of Nucleus. Singleton

was fourth and then came Prince Lu and Carinthia, Easterly falling at the last fence. Time, 3.54 2-5. The winner, who jumped well, .was always prominent and finished with something in reserve. He is a greatly improved jumper. Make Up was always in the issue but found the task of giving two stone to the winner too •much. Nucleus went a useful race. Prince Lu endeavoured to win from end to end but he stopped quickly over the concluding stages. Carinthia was finishing on well after being a long way back for most of the trip. Dark Prince fell at the first fence and Paris on the hill top. When they came past the stands the first time Spalpiko had charge from Star Comet, Lucess, Nukumai, Foxhound, Wiltshire, Master Lu, Copey, Perle de Leon, Make Up, Wako King and Lupin Abbey. Star Comet and Perle de Leon fell at the fence by the sevenfurlong post while Nukumai went out of action on the hill top. Over the stand double entering on the final round, Spalpiko was twenty lengths in front of Master Lu and then came Lucess, Copey, Wiltshire, Matu,. Wako King, Foxhound and Lupin Abbey. Foxhound ran off here, Spalpiko leading up the hill the last time followed by Master Lu, Copey, Lucess, Wako King, Matu and Wiltshire, with Lupin Abbey well back. Alaster Lu took charge after clearing the first fence at the hill top, and showed the way down the hill to Lucess, Spalpiko, Copey, Wako King, Matu and Wiltshire. Alaster Lu was the pilot into the straight from Lucess, Wako King, Copey, Alatu, Spalpiko and Wiltshire. Alaster Lu won by eight lengths from Wako King who was three lengths in front of Lucess. Copey was fourth and then came Alatu, Spalpiko and Wiltshire. Time, 8.12. The winner gave a fine display of jumping and gained a very comfortable victory. Wako King put up a surprisingly good showing. Lucess was in the issue throughout but tired over the concluding stages. Cope.y went a good race while Alatu was finishing on well. Spalpiko who made most of the running stopped badly over the final stages. Star Comet was going well until he his mistake.

When they settled down Mana- j whenua had charge from Puriri Park, Refresher, Inevitable, Lady’s Boy, Havering,, British King and Royal Doulton. At the end of three furlongs the order was Manawhcnua, Puriri Park, Inevitable, Refresher, Lady’s Boy, British King, Gold Money and Llandudno. When they levelled up for the run home Manawhcnua, Lady’s Boy, Puriri Park, Refresher and Inevitable were all prominent. Taneriri, finishing fast on the outside, won by a neck from Inevitable who beat Refresher by a similar distance. Lady's Boy was fourth and then came Awaken, Manawhenua, Puriri Park, Gold Money, Llandudno, Havering and Eager Rose. Time, 1.30. It was a great finish. Taneriri was well back until the straight was reached. He finished with a great rattle. Inevitable siayed on much better 'than on his first day’s appearance and appeared to lie a bit unlucky in meeting with some interference from Refresher near the home turn. Refresher was in Hie issue throughout and so was Lady’s Roy. Gold Money and Havering were both beaten by their weights. Yalroc lost his rider in the early stages of the race. Manawhcnua and Puriri Park were prominent for most of the trip.
