RETURNED SOLDIERS.
THE WAIKATO EXECUTIVE. At a meeting of the executive of the Waikato Returned Soldiers’ Association Mr E. Clayton-Greene occupied the chair and there were also present Dr. F. D. Pinfold, Messrs. R. B. Granwell, A. McKenzie, R. D. McFartand, T. Paterson, J. Blackhall, G. S. Clarke, N. S. Johnson and H. C. M. Norris. Dr. Pinfold was congratulated on his election to the Mayoralty. Several applications for assistance were considered. It was decided to ask the Association’s delegate to the Dominion Conference to support a reduction In the capitation fees to headquarters if in his opinion circumstances warranted it. Two remits for the Dominion Conference were passed.—First, that there he a ten per cent, reduction in salaries at headquarters and, secondly, that the Government be again approached with a view to the putting into operation of the recommendations of the Rehabilitation Commission’s Report. A sub-committee was set up to go Into the question of the formation of a miniature rifle club in Hamilton, Pension applications were reviewed.
