Mr A. L. BroAvne, of Sydney, Is among the guests at the Hamilton Hotel. Mr M. E. Laybourne, of Hamilton, will leave this evening to attend the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church at Wellington. Rev. L. Rogers, of First Church, Frankton, will leave to-day for Wellington to attend the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of NeAv Zealand. Messrs 11. M. Whyte, L. W. Markin, A. Newdick, N, Carr, R, O'Brien, E. W. Knox (Auckland), J. M. Gillninn (Nelson), and P. Helmby (Wellington) are at the Hamilton Hotel. Rev. 11. G. Gilbert will leave for the south to-day to attend the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church, which Avill meet in Wellington tomorroAv. After 34 years In the service of the Government, Mr T. H. Turner, of Auckland, retired on superannuation from the Customs Department on Saturday. Mr J. C. Willis, superintendent of police at Dunedin, who has retired after 40 years’ service, Avas tendered a farewell at Dunedin on Saturday evening, and was presented with a grandfather clock and also Avith other gifts for ids wife and daughter.
