Ratepayers’ Association. Th aennual meeting of the Hinuera Hall and Ratepayers’ Association was held in Hie hall, Mr D. Mclsaac pre-
siding over a fair attendance. The report showed a sound financial position, all debts having been paid off, leaving a credit balance of £l3 7s sd.
It was decided to elect a joint committee to look after the interests of the Hall and the Ratepayers’ Association, and the following were elected:— Messrs P. Hawke (chairman), G. Brown (secretary), H. Settle, C. Pond, A. Rowe, A. Harris and F. Hall. Danoe. A dance, in aid of the funds of the Matamata branch of the St. John Ambulance Association was held in the hall. Music was supplied by Holland’s Orchestra, extras being played by Mrs Wade, Miss Leadbeater and Mr Schofield. Mr W. Oates was M.C. This worthy object did not meet with the success it merited. Personal. Mr and Mrs G. Ring have returned from a holiday at The Mount, Tauranga. Mrs D. Ryan and family, of Hakaru, North Auckland, have been, visiting Mrs W. Sweetman. Mrs C. Brown, senr., of Tauranga, is visiting her daughter, Mrs H. Conder. Mr J. Waters, of Auckland, is the guest of Mr H. Hawke. Miss Alma Gonder has returned from Auckland. , ' .Mr and Mrs G. Fisher are visiting Thames. Mr W. Maude is spending a lew days in Auckland.
