DAMAGE BY EARTHQUAKE
POLICIES REMODELLED. FROZEN MEAT AFFECTED. United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright. (Received May 27, 11.5 a.rn.) LONDON, .May 26. The Institute of London Underwriters, in consequence of the heavy losses to produce while in freezing works ashore during the New Zealand earthquake, have inserted a clause in ordinary marine frozen meat insurance policies, specifically exempting from cover “loss or damage ashore caused directly or indirectly by earthquake, volcanic eruption or fire resulting therefrom. These risks will therefore have to be covered by specific policies and a separate premium.
