AUCKLAND PRODUCE. GOOD BUSINESS RECORDED. Good business is recorded on the Auckland markets, despite the fact that matters have hardly got back to normal following the holidays. Potatoes. —The market is very firm, owing to short supplies. Pukekohe is asking £8 to £8 10s a ton f.0.r., and at that price merchants cannot sell through store, Auckland, in small lots at under £lO a ton. Orders have been booked during the past few days for Rangitikei potatoes at £5 f.o.r, equivalent to about £8 a ton through store, Auckland, for delivery next month. Onions.—Australian onions are selling through store at about 14s a cwt. Supplies from Pukekohe continue to increase and prices have eased in sympathy. Merchants are quotingcountry storekeepers on a basis of £9 a ton f.0.r., Pukekohe. Through store, Auckland, quotations - range around 5s 6d to 6s a bag. Oats.—Merchants are asking from 4s 4d' to 4s 6d a bushel for Gartons, but with next week’s southern shipment the market in Auckland should drop 2d a bushel. j Wheat.—The market having weakened, merchants are asking 7s lOd a bushel. Southern quotations for March to September delivery show a reduction of 9d a bushel on present quotations. Chaff.—Quotations range from £9 10s to £lO a ton. Tasmanian is selling at around £9 a ton. Maize.—There is little difference, merchants asking 5s 9d a bushel. Java quotations have weakened and a few parcels have been booked during the past week or two for delivery in Auckland about April, to be sold at about 5s 9d a bushel. Barley.—Through store, Auckland, machine cleaned and clipped Australian barley sells at-4s 6d a bushel. New Zealand barley sells at up to 5s a bushel. Dairy Produce.—Hen eggs, special grade, Is 6d a dozen; A grade, Is 5d a dozen; B grade, Is 4d a dozen; C grade, Is 3d a dozen; duck eggs, special grade, Is 4d a dozen; A grade, Is 3d a dozen; B grade, Is 2d a dozen; C grade, Is Id a dozen; farmers’ butter, 7d to 9d a lb.

The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Ltd., report that at their Putaruru stock sale there was a small yarding of fat and store cattle, but a good entry of pigs. Medium fat cows made £4 5s to £5; lighter cows, £3 to £3 15s; potter bulls, £5 10s; store ewes, 3s Od to 4s; slips and small store pigs, £1 to 255; weaners, 9s to 10s. BUTTER AND CHEESE. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report : The butter market is quiet. New Zealand: Finest salted, 113 s to 116 s. j Danish: 128 s to 130 s.
