HAMILTON HIGH SCHOOL.
(To the Editdr.) Sir, —A few weeks ago there appeared in the Times a report of tho meeting of the Hamilton High School Board of Governors in which a dispute arose between the headmaster and the secretary. From this report and subsequent correspondence, one is to infer that one of the two gentlemen concerned is either a prevaricator or acting under a misapprehension. A few gentlemen have indulged in rather vehement criticism of Mr English and one apparently forfeited his right to the dignified title of “gentleman" when he suggested a method of settling the dispute which is absolutely contrary to what should be the ideal of an educated man. 1 think it would he to the advantage of the parties concerned and the public in general if the matter were thrashed out. It behoves the chairman to make a definite statement which will finalise the matter.— 1 am, etc., ' ’ K.L.O. :
