LAWN TENNIS.
NGAHINAPOURI CLUB. On the Ngahinapouri courts a challenge round was placed by membeis of the club. The competition starts on Saturday and the -local team shows every promise of being reasonably strong again this year. PUKETAHA CLUB. There was a big gathering at the official opening of the Tennis Club at Puketaha, although play started some weeks ago. The president, Mr C. Bogun, welcomed the new members and guests, and congratulated the club on its increased membership and playing strength. Mrs Bogun put the first- ball across the net amidst cheers, and declared the season opened.
