It is unlikely that the revolutionary programme of the Federal Labour Party in respect of the control of the Commonwealth Bank and the compulsory extension of credits will be unfolded diiring the present session. The Federal caucus decided:—(l) That the Commonwealth Bank be asked to assist the Government in meeting internal loans maturing shortly, also those maturing in other financial years; (2) that the Ministry ask - the- Commonwealth Bank to agree to raising a loan of £20,000,000 so that works of a productive character can be financed; and (3) that an increase in the note issue to enable this finance to be arranged be requested.
