CAMBRIDGE BRANCH. SALES OF CULL COWS. The bi-monthly meeting of the Cambridge branch of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union was held on Friday. Mr I-I. A. Watkins, president, presided over a fair attendance. N Vote of Sympathy. / A vote of sympathy was passed with Mrs Perkins and family and Mr and Mrs W. G. Care in their recent sad bereavement. Resignations. Letters were received from Messrs G.- Vickers and A. Paton tendering their resignations from the branch. Members expressed the opinion that in view of the present depression farmers should more than ever stick to the union. It was resolved that the secretary should be instructed to write tiicse members asking them to reconsider their decision in this matter. The chairman remarked that Urn provincial organiser would canvass in this district at an early date. Next Meeting. It was decided that in view of the fact that December is -an unsuitable month for meetings the next meeting of the branch be held in the last week in November. It was also agreed to approach the i

local Chamber of Commerce with a view to arranging for combined meetings, of the two bodies. , Cull Cows. . The Waikato and Thames Valley Calf By-Products Company drew at- I tention to the fact that cull cows 1 were being sold in the open market at a ridiculously low.rate, and urged i farmers to put their cull stock through their company, which would he prepared to pay 12s 6d per cwt on the hoofs, less |d per lh for overhead expenses. It was resolved to refer the matter to the sub-committee set up to deal with the matter. - Finance. / * The ' secretary reported a credit balance at the hank of £33 17s 3d.
