EMPIRE BUTTER.

APPLICATION FOR MAKING ORDER. EVIDENCE IN. SUPPORT. United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright. (Received Nov. 1, 11.10 a.m.) LONDON, Nov. 31. At the butter inquiry, Mr J, E. King, of the Australian Dairy Produce Board, gave evidence in supporl of the overseas application for a marking order. He said that 50 per cent- of the Australian Butter coming here was used for blending. This was very much against the interests of the producer, as his butter was worthy of being sold as such on its own quality. Mr H. Davis, of the New Zealand Dairy Produce Board, said a marking order for imported butter must necessarily help the sale of Empire butter because of the goodwill which had been established for Empire products.
