The heads of the delegations of the Imperial Conference will meet tomorrow to receive and consider such j, reports as are completed by the committees entrusted with detailed exl aminations of constitutional questions U on the agenda. , . The inter-imperial constitutional questions were referred to the committee under Lord Sankey, and its f: drafting committee to-day presented its draft reports. y- Various aspects of its work have "i been completed. Part of the draft report constitutes a lengthy and highly .technical document and includes sections dealing with the operate tion of Dominion legislation, the nationality question, the channels of v communication to be used between His J.' Majesty’s Governments in the Dominions and foreign Governments, and questions affecting the .position of the $ Governors-General. * The Sankey Committee decided to request further time before a Anal report is sent on to the heads of the delegation. I Economic Co-operation. , The committee on inter-imperial economic co-operation approved of the reports of the sub-committees which have' been examining the possi- ; bility of employing methods alternative fto the tariff, such as “bulk purchase, “ / import boards and extension of the work, of the Empire Marketing Board ) to specific commodities such as canned i 1 fruit, canned fish, fresh fruit, and dairy produce.’’ The committee is now engaged-- on their general report for the heads, i Overseas Settlement. The Overseas- Settlement Committee have completed their report, which reviews the whole problem of Stateassisted migration within the Empire, and organisations set up both in the 'Dominions add in Britain. The mea'X. sures taken to ensure the settlement of / migrants to the advantage of them- ? selves and to the countries in which they settle, have been closely examined. These include assisted passages, with assured employment; schemes such as the 3000 families scheme in •Canada and the more recent scheme jin New Brunswick;, scheme's to en[courage juvenile settlers; and also ’/various schemes for training inlendt ing oversea settlers in England. ; There are three of these large training - .centres in addition to five hostels for p. young women and eight for. boys.
