RATES AT ADDINGTON. HEAVY ENTRY OF SHEEP. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Wednesday. The Addington market to-day attracted a heavier entry of fat and store sheep and about the ordinary number of fat cattle. Store Sheep.—The entry was the heaviest for some months. Ewes and lambs provided a heavy section. The market was sluggish and there was a general easing of up to Is a head, with passings fairly numerous. Extra good Romney-cross ewe hoggets made 24s to 255; medium to good, 15s to _l7s Sd; ordinary, 11s to 12s 9d; mixed sex, 4 and 6-tooth, 8s 9d to 11s, medium to good shorn Romney wethers, 15s 4d to. 16s 6d: ordinary, 12s 9d to 14s lOd; ordinary 2, 4 and 6-tooth wethers, to 14s 7d; medium to good ewes and lambs. 12s 6d to 14s 7d: ordinary, 8s to 11s 6d; backward, 6s to 7s; aged and backward ewes, 3s lOd to ss. Spring Lambs: 500 penned, mostly of medium quality. There was a drop of 3s to 4s a head. One good line of 28 brought from 29s Id to 33s 7d. Fat Sheep.—An entry of over 5000 head. About 20 per cent, of the entry was shorn. A free sale at prices a shade easier than last week. Extra prime heavy wethers made up to 36s 4d; prime heavy wethers, 29s to 335; medium-weight prime wethers, 26s 6d to 28s 6d: second quality wethers, 24s 6d to 265; inferior wethers, 21s to 245; extra prime ewes, to 31s Id; prime ewes, 25s to 295; ordinary ewes, 20s to 245; light and aged ewes, 16s 6d to 19s 6d; best shorn wethers, to 29s Id; ordinary shorn wethers, to 245; best shorn ewes, to 24s 4d. Fat Cattle.—l42o yarded, including 111 from North Island. Slightly better demand for all classes. Best beef made from 46s to 50s per 1 1001 b.; heavy from 40s to 455; secondary, 37s Gd to 42s Id; and inferior down to 30s. Extra- prime heavy steers made to £23 12s 6d; prime heavy steers, £l9 15s to £2l 10s; prime mediumweight steers, £ls 10s to £lB 10s; medium quality steers, £l2 to £ls: light steers, £9 10s to £ll 10s; extra prime heifers to £2l 12s 6d; prime heifers, £l3 to £l6 ss; medium heifers, £lO 10s to £l2 10s; light heifers, £7 15s to £10: extra prime cows to £l7 12s 6d; prime cows, £l2 10s io £ls 15s; medium cows, £lO 5s to £l2 ss; light and aged cows, £7 10s to £9 10s. Dairy Cattle. —For good springers there was a fairly good demand, hut backward sorts sold draggingly. Best third and fourth calvers made £9 to £l2 5s 9d: medium, £5 10s to £8 15.5; inferior, £3 10s to £5: good .heifers, £8 6s to £lO 15s; medium, £6 lo £7 ss; inferior, £4 to £5 ss. Fat Pigs.—Porkers were in medium supply and sold at unchanged prices. There was a small yarding of baconers and these also sold at late rates. Choppers were in over-supply and were considerably easier. > Choppers made £3 to £7 10s; porkers, 47s 6d to 555; heavy porkers, 56s 6d to £3 7s 6d, average price per lb., to B|d; baconers, £3 10s to £4 3s 6d; heavy baconers, to £4 13s 6d; average price per lb., 6id to 7id.
Store Pigs —A small yarding and a keen demand throughout. Large stores, 40s to 47s 6d; medium stores, 32s to 38s; small stores, 28s to 31s 6d; slips and good weaners, 23s to 28s 6d; inferior weaners, down to 10s.

The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Co., Ltd., report that at their sale at Mercury Bay they penned a full yarding of all classes of cattle. There was a good attendance of buyers and prices were considerably higher than rates ruling elsewhere. Quotations were as follows: Light fat steers, £8; fat cows, £6 2s to £8 ss; store cows, £3 to £3 16s; mixed coloured 2-year’steers £3 16s to £6 ss; yearling Hereford Steers, £4 18s to £5 11s; yearling Shorthorn steers, £4 6s to £4 15s; yearling mixed coloured steers, £2 10s to £4 4s; yearling heifers, best, £4 to £6 ss; others, £2 lo £3 16s; service bulls, sgns. to lOgns; yearling bulls, £1 to £3; Dairy heifers, £5 to £8 12s 6d. LONDON TALLOW SALES. Dalgety and Company, Limited, has received Hie following cablegram from its London house dated October 29: Tallow: 713 casks were offered and 86 per cent. sold. Inferior was Gd higher; other descriptions unchanged.
