ACTIVITIES AT TE RAPA.

ATROCIOUS CONDITIONS. HUNT CANDIDATES GALLOP. Conditions were atrocious for training operations at Te Rapa this morning when only those horses with engagements at the Hunt -meeting on Monday were worked. The extreme outside of the course proper was open and, on a heavy track with a strong headwind in the straight, limes were very slow. ■ Hakanoa was galloped on his own, covering four furlongs in 58s. Considering the conditions, it was a satisfactory effort.

Holly Holm who, however, had the advantage of the weights, accounted for Glena r Bay over four furlongs run in 59 3-ss. '

King Win had Ivaha beaten off in encompassing five furlongs in lm 13s. Kaha could not handle the going but King Win went well. King Ford was holding Rita’s Light nicely at the conclusion of three furlongs which occupied 42 2-ss. Tradesman gave a pleasing display in running four furlongs on his own in 56 l-ss. The going ’did not appear to trouble him. Unoco, who will contest the big flat event on Monday, hit out very freely in covering a circuit at strong three-quarter pace with his trainer, G. Carmont, in the saddle.- He, also, was quite at home with the prevailing conditions. Turongo, who' will make his debut on Monday, siiaped pleasing'y when given barrier exercise, stretching out well in company with several juveniles in a sprint up the straight. Trig and Crua chan finished on terms over five furlongs in lm 14s. Pendavies and Copev were to have been companions over a round but the first named cleared right away from, his companion and completed his task in dashing style. The Hunt Cup candidate, who cut his leg when schooling on Tuesday, seems, to have suffered no ill effects as a result of the mishap. Mervette was allotted strong work and hit out well. She is very fit.

Additional riding engagements announced for Monday are as follows: — O. Mclnally: Ilakanoa, Holly Holm, King Ford, The SunF. Bentley: King Win, Monetize, Mosque. McLaughlin: Valuation, Turongo.
