PLAY IN THE FINAL.

WELLINGTON, Thursday. Miss Gaisford, playing beautiful golf, was three up on Miss Kay at the turn and five up at the thirteenth in the first eighteen, holes of the ladies’ championship final this morning. .
In the afternoon, by going out in 37, one over fours, and playing the seven holes of the home journey in even fours, Miss Kay turned the deficit on the v morning round into a win by .3 up and 2. The golf was of the highest 'standard. While Miss Kay did the", last seven holes played in even fours, Miss Gaisford took one over fours. Their cards for the second round read: — Miss Kay: Out, 4,5, 4,4, 3,5, 4,5, 3- 37; in, 4,5, 4,5, 3,3, 4. Miss Gaisford: Out, 4,7, 4, -5, 4,5, 5,5, 4 in, 5,4, 5,5, 2,4, 4. Seldom has the golf heen of a higher standard.
After the championship had heen decided the prizes won at the tournament were presented to the winners by Miss Duncan, president of the Wellington Ladies’ Golf Club.
