ADDINGTON MARKET. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Thursday. • There were fairly heavy increases In entries in all main sections at the Addington market yesterday. There was a decline in -beef values. Following are the prices:—Store Sheep.—The first offering of ewes and lambs was forward. The sale throughout, though irregular, was satisfactory. Medium ewes and lambs (all counted), 12s 6s to 14s Id; ordinary, 9s to 12s; backward, 7s to 8s; good ewe hoggets, to 20s 7d; mixed sex to 9s; medium four-tooth half-bred wethers, to 19s; medium shorn halfhred wethers, to 14s lOd. Spring Lambs.—Spring lambs recovered 5s of the 10s' drop recorded last week. The yarding was 180, compared with 314 last week, and was of very good -quality. Prices.wore equivalent to Is to Is -Id a lb'. Extra prime lambs, to 37s 7d: prime lambs 31s 6s to 33s 6d; medium lambs, 28s 6d to 31s; light lambs, 24s to 28s.

Fat Sheep.—The entry totalled 4000 and over the whole sale values were practically on a par with those ruling last week. Extra prime heavy wethers, to 37s 7d: prime, 20s 6d to 33s 6d; medium-weight, 27s 6d to 20s; second quality, 25s to 275; light, 21s to 24s 6d; extra prime ewes, to 34s Id; prime, 25s 6d to 29s 6d; medium, 20s to 24s 6d; light, 17s to 19s. Fat Cattle.—There was a total of 430 head of fat cattle offered, including weight prime beef made from 45s to 50s. per 1001 b; heavy steers, from 37s 6d to 425; cow, to 425; ordinary, 33s to 30s; and rough, down to 275. Fat Pigs.—Prices eased by about 5s to 7s a head, or Id a lb. Porkers, 45s to 555; heavy porkers, 57s 6d to 66s (average price per lb, 7|d to 84d) ; baconers, £3 8s 6d to £4; heavy haboners, to £4 14s 6d (average price per lb, 6|d to 7d); choppers, £3 to £8 10s.

KAUROA SALE. Messrs Dalgety and Company, Ltd., report having held their stock sale at Kauroa on Wednesday, when a fair yarding of all classes of stock came forward and met with a fair sale, although bidding, was very dragging. Following is the run of prices: Light fat cows', £5 15s to £6; light store cows, £2 10s to £3 os; good yearling Jersey heifers, £3 5s to £5; others, £2 to £2 10s; Jersey bulls, £5 5s to £6 17s 6d; others, £2 to £3 10s; twoyear Shorthorn bulls, £4 10s to £6 ss; springing Jersey cows, £6 to £7 15s ; Shorthorn cows, £l2 10s; others, £6 5s to £7 10s; springing heifers, £4 10s to £6 ss; ewe hoggets, 21s; goats, 2s 6d.

MATAMATA SALE. Dalgety and Company, Limited, report having held their fortnightly sale at Matamata on Wednesday, when a full yarding of cattle came forward. The advertised lines of breeding cows and steers did not reach the owners’ reserve, and were passed in. Fat steers, £ll ss; forward-conditioned steers, £9: fat cows, £7 5s to £8 16s; lighter cpws, £5 to £6 10s; store cows, £3 to £4 ss; yearling Jerseyheifers, from £4 9s to £5 Is; small Jersey-cross heifers, £3 5s to £3 15s; dairy heifers, close up, £8 10s to £9 10s; others, £6 10s to £7 1.55. There was a medium yarding of pigs, which met with keen competition. Light baconers made up to £2 12s; porkers, £2 7s; large stores, £l‘ 15’s' to £1 19s; medium stores, 30s to '33s; lighter sorts, 28s: slips, 22s to 275; best weaners, 20s; others, 12s Od Lo 18s.
