RUGBY FOOTBALL.
PRESENTATION OF OUPMr A. J. Shepherd, chairman of the Waipa Rugby Union, visited St. Joseph’s Convent school, Te Awamutu and presented the silver cup won by the Convent .team in the primary schools’ seven-a-slde Rugby tournament. Mr Shepherd congratulated the winning team on its success. The cup, he added, had been donated ten years ago by the Waipa Primary Schools’ Rugby Association for competition. He added that now Convent had attained a win in the realm of Rugby perhaps a cricket team could also be formed to compete with teams from other primary schools. The CrickcL Association would do anything it could to assist. (Applause). The team cap lain, Master Meredith, was handed the cup, amid much applause.
