LADIES' GOLF.
DOMINION CHAMPIONSHIP. PLAY IN THE FINAL. A WIN FOR MISS KAY. MISS GAISFORD' BEATEN. (By Telegxapn.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Thursday. Miss Gaisford, playing beautiful golf, was three up on Miss Kay at the turn and five up at the thirteenth in the first eighteen holes of the ladies’ bhampionship final this morning. Miss Kay, however, covered the following five holes in 3,3, 4,4, 5, and was only three down when the players went in to lunch. Miss Gaisford won the first four holes, and it looked as if the final was to be a walk-over, but the Otago girl came to light towards the close. Miss Gaisford’s card totals B(3—out, 4,6, 3,4, 3,6, 6,6, 3, total 41; in, 4,5, 4,5, 4,2, 5,4, 6, total 39. Miss Kay’s card was 84—out, 5, 7,4, 6,3, 5,6, 6,3, total 45; in, 4, 5,5, 6,3, 3,4, 4,5, total, 39. Miss Gaisford’s only weakness was her second shots. Later. The final resulted in a win for Miss Kay, three and two.
THE SEMI-FINALS.
Bogey Competition. The second bogey handicap competition was played in a high wind this afternoon. Miss Petrie (4), Miss Watson (4), Miss Perry .(8) and Mrs Stout (5) returned-cards of 3 down, but Miss Watson won the competition, as she was all square on the first half of the round. In the second division Mrs McMillan (10) and Mrs Seddon (13) both finished 3 down, hut Mrs McMillan won on a review of the first nine holes.
Rattray Cup.
The Rattray Cup, which goes to the competitor obtaining the best aggregate in the two bogey matches, resulted in a tie between Miss Watson, 3 down and 3 down, and Miss Dalgleish, 2 down and 4 down, but. Miss Watson was awarded. the cup afier the championship committee had Reviewed Hie cards.
