WAS IT A ’QUAKE?
SHAKE AT ARAPUNI. FELT BY GOVERNMENT OFFICERS
Whilst sitting at lunch at the Government hostel- at Arapuni on Saturday, a number of Government officers noticed what they thought was an earth tremor.' The building seemed to shake a little from no apparent cause. The disturbance caused th< Chief Government Engineer, Air F. W. Furkert, to exclaim “ What’s that ?” Whether the shake, if it can be defined as such, was in any way connected with the subterranean rumblings heard at Ohaupo and Rukuhia the previous night, is difficult to say.
