Mrs J. Chitty, of Hamilton, is spendins a holiday in Gisborne.
Miss Evelyn Ford, of Auckland, spent the week-end in Hamilton where she was the guest of Mrs Allan Brenaner.
•Miss Joan Banks, of Matamata, has been staying with her aunt, Mrs E. Firth, at Rangiriri.
Miss Linda Symes, of Whangarei, who has been staying with her aunt, Mrs W. Tudhope in Hamilton, returned North to-day.
Mrs A. K. Hobbs and Miss M. Hobbs, of Hamilton, were recent callers at New Zealand House in London.
A well-known English woman photographer recently Went to America. She took with her an ordinarysized coloured' cloth doll. She had a small leather coat, cap, and goggles made for it, and called it her “racing mascot.” An enterprising American merchant happened'to see it in her flat, asked her to sell him the “patent,” and within an hour the doll’s owner had collected £4OOO, having sold the little figure outright.
